Happy Birthday Lake!
Today my very special Lake would have been 13. She is why I have this blog. I truly believe that if I had not had her before Arrow, my experience with him would have been completely different and not in a good way. He was not a horse for a very 1st time horse owner. Lake taught me enough to be able to handle Arrow and continue to grow with him as a horse owner. He keeps me on my toes!! I have only been able to ride him twice in 4 weeks. It has been raining a lot. He is a little spunky on rainy or windy days. I have also been busy with work, my dad and Tyler so I haven’t had as much Arrow time as I need. I hope that changes soon! I finally was able to schedule a lesson tomorrow with not a cloud in the sky! Yayyyyyy! He hasn’t been ridden much in the last few weeks so this could be interesting.
Arrow had follow up Chiropractic. The Vet said he has made significant improvements since her last visit. That meant a lot to me. He is definitely back to full size! The Vet said he was a very big boy. Arrow loved his session. He was like jelly the rest of the day. The following week he had a massage. He was in heaven for the rest of that day too! I hope he is a happy horse. I’m trying my best. When it was raining and cold I blanketed Arrow. He loves to roll and I noticed after the 3rd day that his blanket was still completely clean and the ground was super muddy. All of the other horse's blankets were completely filthy like you would expect. That made me wonder if he couldn’t roll in it and also if he was getting any sleep because he obviously didn’t lie down to sleep. I had to go out of town the next day so Chloe took his blanket off for me. I was happy to see that his blanket was dirty. I still wonder why it took 3 days when this boy loves his dirt!
My goal this month is to really do a lot of ground work with Arrow. I also want to get in a lot of riding lessons myself. I’m never going to get any better if I don’t ride more. Please Lottery Please!!!!!!
