A Fabulous Ride!
I finally got to ride my boy Arrow again since my little spill and it was absolutely Magical!! It is amazing what Chloe has done with him in such a short time! I rode in the covered round pen just to be on the safe side. He is such a smooooooth ride. Beautiful trot! I have decided to go back to riding western for awhile while I am getting use to him. It is actually a mix of Western and English. I’m going to ride him one more time with Chloe present in the open arena and if all goes well I should be able to ride him alone on the weekends and evenings after work. I won’t attempt the trails by myself for a little while but it will be sooner than I expected. He hasn’t spooked once for Chloe since I rode him and she said it could have just been because he was so new to his surroundings and us. He feels like a cautious horse if that makes sense. I’m so excited for our future! It won’t be long before Tyler will be ready to ride him too. She is doing awesome with her riding lessons and is planning on helping Chloe with the horses during the summer. I love that she has taken such a strong interest.
Arrow had his hooves done last week and he is still shoeless. My Farrier said he was a good boy. I’m so proud of him! It’s supposed to be triple digits again this weekend so if I ride it will be very light riding and then he is going to get a good bath. Unfortunately when he gets a bath so do the cars parked by the wash rack. I don’t always pay attention to where the water is going when I am scrubbing him. Sorry to all those affected. Work is still crazy and is cutting into my Arrow time so I continue to play Powerball. I wish I could watch more of his training with Chloe. I feel like I am missing out on some of his growing up.
I do want to say “Happy 7th Anniversary” to my Best Friend and Love of my life Joe. It is our anniversary this weekend and if it weren’t for him I would not have my Arrow nor would I have had Lake for that matter. He truly is my Dream Guy!!!!
